In January, we announced that we will be hosting the region’s first German-style Christkindlesmarkt at our Sutton, MA studios starting Friday, November 15th through Saturday, November 16th.

As part of our celebration of #35Traditions, the Christkindlesmarkt will bring together nationally acclaimed artists that share our history of exhibiting at artisan shows and festivals during the 1980’s. The Christkindlesmarkt & Artisan Show will try to re-create the magic of the Christkindlesmarkt that pop-up around European cities during the holidays. The two-day festival will feature outdoor food and drinks and we will be transoforming Blaxton Hall (the same room where Gerald Charles Dickens does his Thanksgiving performance of A Christmas Carol) into a festive marketplace for the retail vendors, including: Byers’ Choice, Dad’s Follies Antique Chocolate Molds, Greg and Mary Shooner Redware, Pamela Dalton Scherenschnitte, Stenciled Floorcloths by Michele, Will Moses.

Pictured here is the start of the project: Christmas stalls being built to resemble (with a creative interpretation) the European style of the celebrations.

Be certain to follow us online to see the progress of what it takes to create an American Christkindlesmarkt. Tickets to the two-date market will be available this summer and more information can be found at: SuttonChristmas.com
