In January, we announced that we will be hosting the region’s first German-style Christkindlesmarkt at our Sutton, MA studios starting Friday, November 15th through Saturday, November 16th.As part of our celebration of #35Traditions, the Christkindlesmarkt will bring together nationally acclaimed artists that share our history of exhibiting at artisan shows and festivals during the 1980’s. The Christkindlesmarkt & Artisan Show will try to re-create the magic of the Christkindlesmarkt that pop-up around European cities during the holidays. The two-day festival will feature outdoor food and drinks and we will be transoforming Blaxton Hall (the same room where Gerald Charles Dickens does his Thanksgiving performance of A Christmas Carol) into a festive marketplace for the retail vendors, including: Byers’ Choice, Dad’s Follies Antique Chocolate Molds, Greg and Mary Shooner Redware, Pamela Dalton Scherenschnitte, Stenciled Floorcloths by Michele, Will Moses.Pictured here is the start of the project: Christmas stalls being built to resemble (with a creative interpretation) the European style of the celebrations.Be certain to follow us online to see the progress of what it takes to create an American Christkindlesmarkt. Tickets to the two-date market will be available this summer and more information can be found at: SuttonChristmas.com
