Today marks the end of Barbara Terry’s 17 years at Vaillancourt Folk Art. When Barbara’s husband retired she joined us part time for pin money, but, shortly thereafter, her part-time soon became 32-hours a week. Hired to do the aging, she has virtually aged every piece that has come through painting for all these years. Her deft touch has given our pieces that perfect aged patina without making them too light or dark. A true team player, when she completed the day’s aging, she learned to set-up painting by whitening and base coating the chalkware pieces. She intends to spend some well earned time with her husband Bill, but has left the door open to help when we are in a pinch; that’s just the kind of lady she is! We are very sorry to see her leave, but wish her the best in her second retirement.
