For 19 years, Vaillancourt Folk Art has hosted collectors (both serious and casual) from around the world during Collector’s Weekend—a weekend dedicated to giving a behind the scenes, hands on, look at how traditions are made. Last year, we were excited to introduce a new program to the weekend: “Friday Evening At Vaillancourt’s.” Taking advantage of the stage of Blaxton Hall—the same stage where Gerald Charles Dickens performs his one-man show of A Christmas Carol on Thanksgiving Weekend—we are pleased to bring a cabaret style entertainment to help start the weekend off on the right foot. This year, we are pleased to be having singer/songwriter and three time Entertainer of the Year! for Massachusetts, Dale LePage. Dale is a first-rate vocalist and together with his trio they bring you a sound that is smooth yet engagingly swinging, and when he takes hold of a power ballad, hang on to your seat! His personality and vocal style is sure to captivate! As an artist, Dale is a song writer’s dream, someone that appreciates the material he works with. He feels that each song leads us on a journey and from beginning to end his emotional phasing and strength insure you will enjoy the ride. About The Friday Opening The Friday opening is the perfect way to either unwind after the Friday painting workshop or to start your Collector’s Weekend. Low number pieces being introduced for the weekend will be available along with the opportunity to meet fellow collectors. Passed hors d’oeuvres and tasty libations will be available. The Friday Opening is free to those already registered to a Painting Workshop or $10 for others. Tickets can be ordered online.
