In 1984, when Vaillancourt Folk Art first started selling to retail and wholesale customers, it was during the folk art, Americana movement which celebrated the bicentennial. Today, since selling to some of the most embellished department stores in the country, we’ve added a bit of “bling” to help add a touch of contemporary flair to each piece. The Santa in Gold is a great example where a shimmering gold coat, which is a gold leaf as opposed to oil paint, helps to make a statement while catching the light of your Christmas Tree.
Vaillancourt is a family owned business located in Sutton, Massachusetts and is best known for their handmade and hand painted chalkware figures. These figures are made using vintage and antique chocolate, candy, and ice cream moulds. The Vaillancourt’s have the largest private collection in the USA and have been creating these heirloom masterpieces meant to be passed down from generation to generation since 1984.
