Children in France leave their shoes (sabot) by the fireplace to be filled with sweets and toys by Père Noël. He dresses in a long fur trimmed hooded robe and his gifts may be in a sack, in a grape basket called a hotte, or carried by a donkey. He may, at times, travel with a very stern companion Pere Fouettard.

This Pere Noel is 4.5” tall and is wearing a pink robe with white fur trim and green and yellow sack.
