Papier-mâché Made in Germany
Last Sold For: $510.00

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of customs with our handmade and hand-painted Krampus made of MAROLIN papier-mâché. This unique figure carries an empty basket on his back, a wooden club in his hand and a chain around his wrist, which underlines his striking appearance.

The Krampus, a character with roots in Central European Christmas traditions, represents St. Nicholas’ darker companion. While Santa Claus brings presents, Krampus embodies the opposite – he punishes naughty children with his club. His appearance serves as a warning to be good all year round.

Our handmade Krampus made from MAROLIN papier-mâché combines masterful craftsmanship with the traditional symbolism of this fascinating figure. The artistic painting gives it an authentic look, while the empty basket, wooden stick and chain emphasize its mythological character. Bring a piece of time-honored folklore and festive tradition into your home with this figure.

This figure is limited to 30 pieces – each figure is unique.

About Marolin Manufaktur

Founded in 1900, Richard Mahr of Steinach, Germany created the finely detailed papier-mâché figurines that have since become internationally known and collected. Marolin figurines are hand composed using a combination of kaolin, chalk, paper fibers, organic paste, and clay before being hand poured and painted. These figurines, not unlike Vaillancourt’s Chalkware, are known for their artistic quality and detail.
