Why should Cupid have all the fun? Santa’s sticking around this year to help spread the love on Valentine’s Day. This delightful, unique Santa figure is made from an antique chocolate mold in the Vaillancourt collection. He wears a long white robe adorned with hearts and Cupid’s arrows, and he carries a beautiful red bag over his shoulder.
In his right hand, he holds a copy of a cutwork paper valentine found in The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation collections. The actual valentine was made in America in 1753?one of the earliest of its type known to scholars?and it is the inspiration for the exquisite design of this Santa’ s robe. You or your loved one will love sharing the background of this beautiful figure.
