Description

Glass Made in Germany
Seasons: Christmas, Winter

The forest house on the ball is surroundet by two fir trees. The back is structured like a pine cone and painted in brown. The real iron cap closes the glass sphere at the top. The place of origin of the glass ornaments is the area around Lauscha in Thuringia. In the beginning it was just a substitute for real fruit which a poor glass-blower could not afford. With time the diversity of glass ornaments for Christmas trees grew. Their popularity grew and they became a real bestseller.

About Marolin Manufaktur

Founded in 1900, Richard Mahr of Steinach, Germany created the finely detailed papier-mâché figurines that have since become internationally known and collected. Marolin figurines are hand composed using a combination of kaolin, chalk, paper fibers, organic paste, and clay before being hand poured and painted. These figurines, not unlike Vaillancourt’s Chalkware, are known for their artistic quality and detail.
