Loaded with a bulging sack full of gifts Santa Claus trudges through the forest. Then snowy little tree in his hand is decorated with a star. Only a lantern lights his way to the children. Many old forms got lost after went to the nationalization of our company in 1972 in the GDR. Among them was also the form for this Santa Claus. An avid collector of our articles gave us an old figure for the reproduction of this piece, that hast lost none of its appeal.
Founded in 1900, Richard Mahr of Steinach, Germany created the finely detailed papier-mâché figurines that have since become internationally known and collected. Marolin figurines are hand composed using a combination of kaolin, chalk, paper fibers, organic paste, and clay before being hand poured and painted. These figurines, not unlike Vaillancourt’s Chalkware, are known for their artistic quality and detail.
