Chalkware Made in United States
Seasons: Winter
Year Issued: 2012 at $180.00 for Colonial Williamsburg
Last Sold For: $290.00

This charming collectible combines a celebration of the Historic Area’s taverns with the 19th-century chalkware folk art made from chocolate molds. Our Tavern Santa’s coat is decorated with images of three Colonial Williamsburg taverns: King’s Arms, Chownings, and Christiana Campbell’s. The black and white checkerboard trim around the bottom of Santa’s robe is reminiscent of period signboards. Many examples of chalkware and Santa chocolate molds can be found in the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation collections. This kind fellow makes a wonderful addition to either a Santa or tavern collection. He is also a great reminder of your favorite Colonial Williamsburg memories during holiday season.
