We have always been inspired by the timeless beauty of Christmas traditions. During a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the 1970s, we were captivated by a 20-foot Christmas tree adorned with 18th-century Neapolitan angels and a complete nativity scene—masterpieces of a centuries-old craft from Naples, Italy. Last year, our journey to discover whether these exquisite figures were still being made led us to the Ferrigno Workshop on the historic Via San Gregorio Armeno in Naples. This remarkable studio, steeped in tradition, has preserved the art of handcrafted nativity figures for over 120 years. The meticulous attention to detail—from kiln-fired terracotta to finely crafted limbs and intricate painted designs—produces the finest angels we have ever encountered. We are pleased to have brought a limited supply of these extraordinary angels to our Retail Gallery this month and look forward to expanding this collection as we introduce an Angel theme for the upcoming Christmas season.
