Celebrate the start of the season with a traditional German Christmas Market in the quintessential New England town of Sutton!

We are pleased to announce the Vaillancourt Christkindlesmarkt & Artisan Show featuring America’s most respected and detailed artists alongside authentic German food and drink during a European-style outdoor Christmas Market.

As with past years, admission will be staggered throughout the day to ensure a comfortable pace for shopping, eating, and merriment; your time in attendance is not limited. Tickets grant access to the entire experience: the outdoor food and beverage pavilion, the inside Artisan Hall, and the Vaillancourt Retail Gallery.

Inspired by trips to the European Christmas markets, the Vaillancourt Christkindlesmarkt & Artisan Show will help usher in the start of the holiday season.

Artists & Brands Represented include…

Will Moses

(Eagle Bridge, New York)

As a fourth generation member of the renowned Moses family, painting is a natural tradition for Will, who began painting when he was four years old. Encouraged by his grandfather, a well-known folk painter in his own right, young Will was allowed to experiment freely with paints. Forrest K. Moses was totally committed to self-expression and passed this freedom of spirit along to his young grandson. Stimulated by his grandfather’s confident approach, Will developed his own unique style of Americana. Today, Will continues to carry on the family tradition. Although his style is reminiscent of that of his celebrated great-grandmother, it is more complex and sophisticated.

Pamela Dalton Scherenschnitte

(Ghent, New York)

Pamela Dalton, a master of Scherenschnitte, has spent decades perfecting the intricate art of paper-cutting after discovering the craft in Europe. Her detailed works, often inspired by 19th-century themes such as nautical, patriotic, and Biblical scenes, have gained worldwide recognition and are featured in galleries, museum shops, and artisan events. Some of her pieces are illuminated with color, while others are antiqued to replicate historical styles. In addition to her paper-cuttings, Dalton has illustrated children’s books, including “Brother Sun, Sister Moon,” a New York Times top pick for its beautiful illustrations. She lives and works in Harlemville, New York, alongside her two butterscotch tomcats.

Dad’s Follies Antique Chocolate Molds

(Gibsonville, North Carolina)

Dad’s Follies is the world’s oldest and largest dealer in antique metal chocolate moulds. For over 50 years Dad’s Follies has specialized in offering only steel chocolate and pewter ice cream moulds. We have relocated tens of thousands of antique moulds to our grateful clients. We are a proud, family-owned North Carolina company operated by our second generation of Mould Experts. We currently offer our moulds online; we also exhibit many of our moulds at private shows.

Stenciling by Michele

(Hollis, New Hampshire)

Michele Hollick has been stenciling for more than 40 years. What started as a simple “kitchen table” hobby, blossomed into a full time business for her. She started making floorcloths when she became interested in Colonial-era furnishings and accessories. Michele has the distinction of being a Certified Stenciler through the International Group Stencil Artisans League, Inc. Less than 100 people world-wide have passed this difficult test. Some of her best classes have been at the annual Stencil Artisans League Convention, the Stencil Decorative Artists Guild Convention, Sanborn Mills Farm, the League of NH Sandwich Gallery, as well as various shops throughout the Northeast.

Kathy Rossacci's Felted Wool Sculptures

(Milford, Massachusetts)

Kathy Rossacci is an American artist who has been experimenting in multiple mediums for many years. For the Christkindlemarkt & Artisan Show, Kathy is showcasing her hand made collectibles featuring felted wool and mixed medium sculptures which include woodland and nautical themed animals, holiday ornaments and holiday themed figurines.

Ino Schaller

(Coburg, Germany)

A fourth generation family business, Ino Schaller has been producing paper mace figures since 1894. Still located in Coburg, Germany, the Schallers have hand selected a vast assortment of holiday figures to be made available during the Vaillancourt Christkindlesmarkt & Artisan Show.

Belsnickel Bells

Daytona, FL

Belsnickel Bells is a family-run business based out of South Daytona, Florida. Originally located in Pennsylvania, Belsnickel Bells’ straps are made out of genuine leather by hand. The bells products, of which are 99% made in America, have some of the richest sounds of any bells we’ve carried. There will be an extended assortment of Belsnickel Bells available during this year’s market.

MAROLIN Manufaktur

Steinach, Germany
MAROLIN Manufaktur - Christmas

Founded in 1900, Richard Mahr of Steinach, Germany created the finely detailed papier-mâché figurines that have since become internationally known and collected. Marolin figurines are hand composed using a combination of kaolin, chalk, paper fibers, organic paste, and clay before being hand poured and painted. These figurines, not unlike Vaillancourt’s Chalkware, are known for their artistic quality and detail. There will be an extended assortment of MAROLIN papier-mâché and glass available during this year’s market.

Artisan publisher and author Pamela McColl will be autographing her award winning book Twas The Night – The Art and History of the Classic Christmas Poem. McColl is returning to Vaillancourt for Christkindlesmarkt as part of a national tour. Other Christmas titles published by McColl’s small press publishing house, including the classic poem in Spanish and French, will be available.  A selection of vintage Christmas editions from her personal collection will be on view and available for sale.

Resl Lenz

Bavaria

Resl Lenz, born Theresia Grundner in 1927 in Dorfen, Bavaria, pursued art in Munich and began crafting Christmas ornaments in 1958. Her handmade decorations inside glass balls sparked the Lenz family business, which gained international fame after the 1959 Frankfurt Trade Fair, attracting clients like Macy’s and Harrods. In 2004, Resl and Anton Lenz passed the business to their daughter Juliane, who continues the tradition of creating cherished, handmade ornaments from Dorfen.

The Original Vienna Snow Globe company, founded in the late 1800s by Erwin Perzy I, pioneered and trademarked the snow globe. Now led by his great-granddaughter Sabine, the fourth-generation family business blends tradition with innovation. Perzy offers snow globes in various styles, including handcrafted, injection-molded, and 3D printed designs, enchanting collectors worldwide with its mix of heritage and modern techniques.

Outdoor Food & Beverage Pavilion

Decorated with live Christmas trees and Moravian Stars—our Outdoor Food & Beverage Pavilion is a place to come together. The sights are intended to usher in the feeling of the season, the smells are intended to remind you of the warmth of family and friends, and the merriment is intended to blend the two together.

We are thrilled to be offering live music this year with two different groups each day. Tubafrau Hofbräu Band will be performing live outdoors from 11am – 3pm and Ludwig and Auntie Hilda will be performing 4pm – 7pm.

Eat, Drink, and Be Merry with…

Experience the magic of traditional European Christmas markets with Vaillancourt. Enjoy hot glühwein imported from Nürnberg, served in collectors’ mugs, or choose from a selection of Christmas beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks like hot chocolate, soda, and seltzers. This year, Vaillancourt is also grilling mildly spiced sausages topped with grilled onions and peppers, bringing the flavors of the German markets to life! Stay warm and enjoy the festive scents filling the air.

Fraulein’s Bakery

(Massachusetts)

Fraulein’s Bakery will be returning with authentic German baked goods and organic European pastries, cookies and cakes – including Apfelstrudel, Pfeffernusse, Lebkuchen, Zimtsterne, Nussecken and Schupfnudeln (German potato dumpling) with Sauerkraut and braised pork.

Crust Bakeshop

Worcester, MA

With two cozy locations in Worcester, MA, Crust Bakeshop has been a beloved part of the community since 2014. As the sister bakery to Birch Tree Bread Company, we specialize in handcrafted, fresh breads and pastries, baked daily with care, patience, and lots of love. Our old-fashioned methods give our baked goods a unique flavor that sets us apart. We’re thrilled to join the 2024 Vaillancourt Christkindlesmarkt & Artisan Show, where we’ll bring an assortment of our finest breads, pastries, and traditional pretzels to celebrate this festive occasion. Come taste the Crust Bakeshop difference!

A tradition stemming from Bulgaria, the Chimney Cake—or Kurtos Kalacs—is an aromatic pastry that will make you fall in love with the first bite. Originally discovered in the land of Transylvania, the Chimney Cake is made from entirely natural ingredients, rolled and baked on site. A national Hungarian pastry, found at many Christmas markets in Europe, we’re pleased to share this new tradition!

Enjoy an indoor cash bar serving a fine selection of Christmas beer and wine. Looking to stay warm? Enjoy piping hot glühwein or hot chocolate inside the Artisan Hall.

The Vaillancourt Retail Gallery

As always, the Vaillancourt Retail Gallery will be open with the full splendor of the holiday season and decorated with the utmost attention to details. Most importantly, in addition to the Vaillancourt Chalkware and Ornaments, the Retail Gallery is stocked with some of the highest quality gifts and collectibles in the market. Be inspired the same way that thousands of visitors from around the world are as they come to the Vaillancourt Retail Gallery to be reminded about the spirit and magic of Christmas.
