In the 18th century, a special occasion was celebrated with fireworks, bonfires, and the lighting of candles in the windows or cupolas of both public buildings and private homes. Today, this tradition lives on at Colonial Williamsburg. To celebrate the “Grand Illumination” in our own manner, we created this statement piece, initially as a prototype. Although, it was not included in the Williamsburg Collection, we are pleased to present it in our own line. The découpaged, historically illustrated buildings around the coat depict Colonial Williamsburg during their grand holiday celebration and to add to the details, you’ll find a reproduction historical sprig with candle and clip in his hand.
