The White Junior Father Christmas with Pointed Hood (not to be confused with the “Original Pointy”) was originally issued in 1987. During the founding decade of Vaillancourt Chalkware, the designs were much simpler as seen in this piece. The original German Chocolate mould lender this piece to focus on the fur, sack of fruit, and attention to the eyes. Designed in a traditional Eastern European decor, this Father Christmas shape has been used in this white and again in 1995 in a simplified red. Arguably, one of the most popular designs in the Vaillancourt collection, in part due to its resemblance to the larger version affectionately knick named “Original Pointy.”
This piece has been re-issued for our 30th anniversary in 2014, with only 30 having been made available. This piece is also available as part of the 30th Anniversary Collection.
