Chalkware Made in United States
Year Issued: 2016 for Mount Vernon

This Vaillancourt folk art Santa is exclusive to Mount Vernon. It is hand painted, numbered, and dated in Sutton, Massachusetts. Judi Vaillancourt developed the technique of creating contemporary chalkware figures using historical chocolate molds to shape new 3-dimensional canvas with a liquid chalk. Her method of creating the modern chalkware was first recognized by “Early American Life” in 1988, by “Colonial Homes” in 1989, and by “Collector Editions” in 1991. She has been recognized in countless national and local publications since, including a feature story in “Yankee Magazine” in 2005. With one of the largest personal collection of vintage confectionery moulds in the world, Judi continues to find inspiration from historical contexts and hand-paints each piece that is produced in her Sutton studios. The Mount Vernon Folk Art Santa is 10 inches tall. Packaged in a craft paper Vaillancourt box. Made in USA.
