Chalkware Made in United States
Seasons: Winter
Year Issued: 2012 at $160.00 for Colonial Williamsburg

This charming collectible Santa holds a green and gold wreath in celebration of the Historic Area’s annual holiday decorations. Many truckloads of pine, holly, boxwood, magnolia, and berries, miles of white pine roping, thousands of white pine and Fraser fir wreaths, and dozens of cases of fruit are used to decorate Colonial Williamsburg’s Historic Area during the holiday season. Though Santa Claus did not become part of New World Christmas traditions until the 19th century, this Santa figurine takes artistic license to cheerfully honor St. Nick. Many examples of chalkware and Santa chocolate molds can be found in the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation collections. This jolly fellow is ready to share these traditions with you.
