Christmas in July
Vaillancourt Folk Art opened their store on Armsby Road in the fall of 1987 and decided in 1988 to start their annual event, Christmas in July. This was a store wide celebration that was a significant event for years to come. The very first year Judi did a special piece for the opening: a small Santa in a sleigh. The piece was extremely detailed and was one of the few chalkware pieces that was never given a number. Instead of a number, it was simply called Christmas in July 1988.
