As we celebrate America’s 240th anniversary of the American flag, we’re happy to include the Bunny Betsy Ross as the 10th piece of the popular Patriotic Parade Series.

Born in 1752, Betsy Ross worked as an apprentice for an upholsterer in Philadelphia during the American Revolutionary War. Betsy is widely credited with creating the first American flag in her twenties, after a visit by Continental Army commander-in-chief, General George Washington. In this chalkware piece, we see Bunny Betsy marching with a basket containing “the flag of thirteen stripes, alternate red and white; that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation.”

As we enter the summer months and the celebrations of both Memorial and Independence Day, it is only fitting that we include the Bunny Betsy Ross to the Patriotic Parade Series.
