1986 Vaillancourt Folk Art Father Christmas Chalkware

Vaillancourt Folk Art is releasing the red 1986 Father Christmas Ice Cream Mould piece! The chalkware piece is available for a 5-day auction on ebay starting Monday, August 22nd.

The piece stands at 11.5″ tall and was painted in 1986. Using an antique ice cream mould, this piece is made from a plaster-like substance, air dried and painted in oil paints. The European Father Christmas is holding a sack of apples, and has a highly detailed backpack with a boy, girl, dog, and fruit. The piece is finished and aged with the famous “crackle finish” that was used through the late 1990s. This piece is hand signed and numbered “103” of 240 painted.

This piece is released from the Vaillancourt Folk Art Vault and has been seen painted in white at VFA Nr. 121W.
