A New Generation for America’s Favorite Christmas Studio Brings a New Generation of Products Sutton, MA (VFA) September 4, 2008 — On September 19th, 2008 Vaillancourt Folk Art will begin a year long celebration to commemorate 25 years of creating American made chalkware figures in their Sutton, MA studios located in the Manchaug Mills at 9 Main Street. Started as a cottage industry by artist Judi Vaillancourt and her business executive husband Gary, it has grown into a full artist studio employing 20 artists and artisans. In 2007 their son Luke joined the business as Digital Marketing Director. Located in a 19th century stone mill where Fruit of the Loom was founded, the site includes a studio, gallery and museum. Visitors may tour the studio seeing the start to finish creation of the chalkware. The museum houses one the most extensive collections of antique European and American confectionary moulds in the United States. Also featured are exhibits on chalkware and Christmas gift givers from around the world. The gallery offers a distinctive shopping experience. The Silver Anniversary celebrations will begin on Friday evening September 19th from 5 to 8 pm. A commemorative 25th Anniversary Chalkware Santa will be introduced along with an exciting new product line Vaillancourt Et Cetera; featuring designs by Judi Vaillancourt on prints, mirrors, trays, aprons and dishware. There will also be an Open House on Saturday the 20th from 10:00 to 5:00. The festivities will continue with the Starlight Santa event on Friday October 31st and Saturday November 1st, 2008.
